Admission & How to Apply

Apply for Florida Atlantic  Undergraduate First-Year (Freshman) Applicants:

• Apply online using the FAU Online Application or the Common Application (spring applicants must use the FAU Online Application).

• Pay a non-refundable application fee of $30.

• Submit a Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record (SSAR) or official high school transcripts once accepted.

• FAU requires applicants to submit SAT, ACT, or CLT test scores as part of the admissions process.

Transfer Students:

• Complete the FAU Online Application.

• Submit official high school and all college transcripts.

• Send official SAT/ACT/CLT scores if you have fewer than 60 transferable credits.

Graduate Students:

• Choose your graduate degree and complete the Graduate College Application.

• Submit official transcripts from all attended institutions.

• Provide letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and any additional program-specific documents as required.

• A non-refundable application fee is generally required.

International Students:

• Complete the same application process as domestic applicants.

• Provide proof of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo).

• Submit financial documentation and academic records translated into English.

• All materials should be received by the international deadlines for full consideration.

Admission Deadlines

Apply for Florida Atlantic uses Early Action and Rolling Admissions options. Deadlines for freshmen include:

Freshman Deadlines (Fall & Spring):

• Early Action Deadline: October 15 (application materials due) – decision by December.

• Rolling Decision Deadline: March 13 for Summer/Fall terms.

• Spring Deadline: September 15 for Spring entry.

Enrollment Deposits:

• Fall/Summer admitted students must typically pay a tuition deposit by May 1.

International Deadlines:

• Fall: April 1

• Spring: October 1

• Summer: February 15 (dates can vary by program)

Fees & Cost of Attendance

Application Fees:

• Undergraduate: ~$30 per application.

• Florida Residents: ~$5,816 (based on ~27 credit hours).
• Non-Florida Residents: ~$20,192 (based on ~27 credit hours).

These figures cover tuition and basic fees; room, board, books, supplies, health insurance, and personal expenses will increase total costs. Financial aid and scholarships are available to eligible students.

Eligibility Requirements

Undergraduate (Freshman & Transfer):

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Official transcripts and, if applicable, college transcripts.
