Admission & How to Apply

Apply for NY Technology Undergraduate (First-Year & Transfer):

• Apply online using the New York Tech Online Application or the Common Application.

• Submit a $50 non-refundable application fee with your application.

• Provide official transcripts from high school (and college transcripts for transfer students)

•  Standardized tests (SAT/ACT) are optional for most programs, but may be useful if submitted.

• Submit letters of recommendation and an essay (usually 300–350 words) explaining your goals and why you chose NYIT.

Graduate Applicants:

• Complete the NYIT online application.

• Submit transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

• Some programs may require GRE/GMAT scores or additional materials (portfolio, resume, statement of purpose).

• International applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo).

International Students:

• Provide academic records translated into English and English proficiency test scores

• Submit financial documentation to receive the I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for visa processing.

• College & activity fees: ~$1,300 per semester

  Total annual cost (including housing and living) can range significantly depending on housing choice and location.

Graduate Students (Full-Time):

• Tuition is based on enrolled credits (e.g., per credit rate variable).
• Mandatory graduate fees and health insurance apply.

Eligibility Requirements

Undergraduate (First-Year)

•  Completed high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong academic record (recommended GPA ~3.0+). While there’s no fixed cut-off, competitive applicants typically have solid grades.
• Standardized test scores are optional but can enhance your application.
• Required recommendation letters and essay.

Transfer:

• Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions.
• Transfer credit evaluation completed by NYIT.

Graduate:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution for master’s programs.
• Minimum GPA as specified by the program (often around 2.85+ for many MS programs).
• English proficiency test scores for international applicants.
